Material selection

Aluminum ADC12, A380 and AlSi10Mg appear in our component portfolio. The suitable grade depends on geometry, mechanical requirements, thermal performance, surface appearance and the specification on your drawing. Confirm the grade and inspection requirements before tooling begins.

Design and tooling review

Identify sealing surfaces, bearing fits, tapped holes and cosmetic faces on the 2D drawing. These features affect parting-line placement, ejector locations, draft, machining allowances and the inspection plan. A 3D model helps us review the shape; the 2D drawing defines the dimensions and acceptance criteria that matter to your assembly.

Secondary machining and assembly features

Casting and machining serve different needs within the same part. We review which features can remain as-cast and which require CNC milling, drilling, tapping or finishing. For an enclosure, that discussion may include mating faces, connector openings, fastener positions and sealing grooves.

Surface finishing requirements

Surface treatment should be selected together with the alloy and the appearance requirement. Our portfolio includes powder coating, e-coating and other finishing routes. Share a reference sample or coating specification where appearance, corrosion protection or assembly fit is important; the final finish is confirmed during the drawing review.

Procurement questions

Can I specify a particular aluminum alloy?

Yes. Include the required grade on your drawing or send the material specification with your inquiry. If the grade is undecided, describe the operating environment and functional requirements for an engineering review.

Which dimensions should I identify for CNC machining?

Mark critical fits, threads, sealing faces and assembly datums on the 2D drawing. The manufacturing review determines the machining operations and checks against those requirements.

How is the delivery schedule confirmed?

Tooling, sample approval, secondary machining, finishing and order quantity all affect delivery. A project-specific schedule is confirmed after the drawings and requirements have been reviewed.

Start with your drawings and project requirements

For a useful quotation, include a 3D model and 2D drawing, required material and finish, order quantity, critical dimensions and your target schedule. Delivery depends on product complexity, tooling, sample approval and production requirements.
